Finding out that the ESA/voucher bills weren’t going anywhere (at least for this year) was such a relief. After having it on my mind throughout the day, wondering how this would all play out, it was good to know that it just didn’t have the votes to move forward.
Of course, this doesn’t mean we can just walk off into the sunset. There is always something looming legislatively that we all need to be aware of and make our voices heard on the matter. We also have the dismal budget crisis going on in our state.
But last night, after hearing the good news about no ESA, it was nice that I got to celebrate it by going to a band concert, where both of my boys performed with many other talented musicians.
This is what it’s all about. Watching our children grow and shine before our very eyes. Encouraging them to take on challenges that can provide endless opportunities for them in the future.
The fight for public education will never be over. But for now, it’s okay to stop and take a breath.
